Mitigate the Risk of Rolling Out Complex Applications and Services Over the Network with Network Emulation and Application Testing.
Network emulation is a technique in which the properties of an existing, planned and/or non-ideal network are replicated in order to assess performance, predict the impact of change, or otherwise optimize networked technology and business applications.
Wide Area Network (WAN) emulation can be accomplished by introducing a WAN Emulation device on the Local Area Network (LAN) that imitates the network conditions of the environment being emulated. The device incorporates a variety of network attributes into its emulation model – including the round-trip time across the network (latency), the amount of available bandwidth, a given degree of packet loss, duplication of packets, reordering packets, and/or the severity of network jitter.
Shunra offers WAN emulation through the use of Shunra VE—a high performance hardware appliance paired with state of the art software.
It’s not easy to ensure the performance of applications and services in today’s complex enterprise environments. That’s why we created the
Shunra Virtual Enterprise (Shunra VE) solution. Shunra VE lets you predict – with precision –
how applications will perform once they’re deployed in any production network environment. By understanding network-application issues in advance you can determine which modifications to applications, services, network or infrastructure are needed to improve performance, robustness and scalability, eliminating the need for lengthy field trials and fix-as-you-go rollouts.
Shunra VE is an ideal solution for many applications and projects including:
