For those of you following my recent posts, this shouldn’t come as much of a shock. Shunra now has an exclusive offer for beta tester of HP’s LoadRunner in the Cloud that lets them use Shunra for HP Software FOR FREE!

My previous post about LoadRunner in the Cloud spoke about how Shunra™ for HP Software not only works well in clouds, but actually “completes the picture” for anyone conducting performance testing of applications that will be accessed remotely. I am not alone with these statements. SAP Labs, HP and Shunra are pleased to announce the availability of a new whitepaper, released today, June 7, titled, “Application Performance Testing in a Virtual Environment.”

HP today announced an agreement with Amazon Web Services that enables you to run HP LoadRunner v9.5 in Amazon EC2. The project is currently in beta, so it’s limited to the East US EC2 region, but does already include pre-built AMIs for your Controller (250 VUs) and any size of Load generator (32 or 64 [...]

Traveling to this week’s HP Software Universe in Hamburg with Mark Tomlinson was a real treat. Not only do Mark and I share many non-professional interests, but our lives as product managers give us plenty to chat about. On our train ride from Berlin to Hamburg, Mark’s insatiable blogging appetite bared itself while we were [...]

One of my favorite partners to work with is LoadTester. Not only are they competent and efficient, but they are nice and will tell you what they really think. Their latest update on HP’s latest release of LoadRunner 9.5 goes into a lot more detail than any readme file will, with perspective and colorful commentary [...]

Earlier this week, Shunra announced the release of a new product, VE Desktop for HP Software 5.0. This product is embedded into HP’s LoadRunner 9.5 and Performance Center 9.5 products and from the surface, looks a lot like a previous feature in LoadRunner called Mercury WAN Emulation (MWE). Because of the obvious similarities, there have [...]

Traditionally, many software companies have cut corners with testing. The reward for being first-to-market often outweighed the desire to build high-quality products. With the global economy more turbulent than ever, this desire has not waned. What has changed is the way individuals within the company look at testing.
