Emulate a Point-to-Point WAN

VE Cloud is designed to emulate a point-to-point network link in your local lab or test bed. This emulation enables you to test, compare and predict the performance of your applications over a WAN link under a wide variety of conditions – including latency, packet loss, jitter, and bandwidth constraints up to 10 Mbps.

With VE Cloud you can:

  • Benefit from using an all software application that can be installed on a Windows laptop with multiple NICs
  • Emulate network conditions at remote sites
  • Expose production-related network problems during pre-deployment testing
  • Determine network capacity needs before a purchase or rollout
  • Test traffic among multiple network devices such as non-Windows OS hosts, VoIP phones or routers

VE Cloud is easy to deploy and use, requiring no technology implementation ramp-up time, or maintenance. Tests are fully customizable and can be automated and easily repeated, enabling you to perform “what if” scenarios and accurately predict your end user's experience at the desktop, without the complexity or risk of testing over the production WAN.

Wide Variety of Emulation Options for Total Flexibility

The Shunra Cloud provides multiple ways to emulate your network link, giving you total flexibility to create a wide variety of network scenarios. Using Shunra’s VE Network Catcher, you can capture and import real-life latency, jitter and packet loss values directly from the production WAN into your test environment. VE Cloud then replays these recordings in sequential or random order, or multiplies/divides them by a factor of up to 200%, to test application performance and scalability under real-life production conditions.

VE Cloud supports the following parameters:

  • Bandwidth emulation: up to 10Mbps or unlimited
  • Latency emulation: maximum 8000ms
  • Packet Loss emulation: maximum 90%
  • OS Support: Win2K, XP Pro
  • Trial licensing: 10 emulations, 30 min each

Easy-to-Read Reports and Graphs

Understanding throughput helps you analyze and drill down to the root cause of application performance degradation. VE Cloud provides a wide variety of reports and graphs that include packet lists, total throughput per direction, and throughput per IP.
