Satellite Network Testing

Satellite networks are used to support critical business applications, but these networks have challenges – high latency and variability due to mobility, line-of-sight loss and channel congestion. Testing satellite networks is also uniquely difficult because it is not feasible in a live environment.

Shunra’s APE solutions enable satellite network testing by creating a virtual satellite network in a lab environment to analyze the viability of applications under specific satellite network infrastructure conditions.

Shunra’s satellite network testing allows enterprises to:

  • Predict how voice, video and data services will perform over various satellite networks;
  • Predict application performance under conditions such as very high delay, high throughput, packet loss, mobility-related variability and signal loss;
  • Re-test applications after modifications to determine whether those modifications improve performance;
  • Create worst-case scenarios to see how applications will perform under these challenging conditions.

With Shunra, organizations can test application and network performance, pinpoint problem areas and remediate them, and validate optimization solutions before production rollouts or before the satellite is launched.
