Success Fueled by Intensified Market Demand for Shunra’s Award-Winning Network Emulation Solutions; 54 Percent of Fortune 100 Now Customers
New York, NY, January 28, 2008 – Shunra, the world’s leading provider of network emulation solutions, today announced strong 2007 results, reporting the fifth consecutive quarter of quarter-over-quarter revenue growth. Shunra’s 2007 success was fueled by intensified market demand for its WAN emulation suite, an increase in turnkey Professional Services engagements, three major product releases and praise from prestigious industry analysts and journalists.
"We’re extremely pleased with Shunra’s strong performance in 2007," said Thomas Charlton, Shunra CEO. "We continued to grow Shunra and establish our brand as preeminent in our market space. Time and again customers chose Shunra over competitors, and the superiority of our technology was recognized through many awards won from some of most respected organizations in our industry. This continued success is due to the industry’s growing recognition of the value of Shunra’s network emulation technology and the fact that our solutions address our customers’ most pressing application-related network performance needs."
In 2007, large and mid-sized companies worldwide, including a roster that includes 54 percent of Fortune 100 firms, increasingly recognized the value of emulating the enterprise network and testing applications and services on a virtual network prior to deployment with Shunra’s VE solutions. Each product in Shunra’s VE family of software and handware solutions, designed to help companies avoid post-deployment issues, while addressing the needs of each phase of the development lifecycle, experienced significant revenue increase in 2007.
"Shunra stands out from its competitors due to its successful penetration of new markets, strategic partnerships, technological innovations and strong revenue growth. The company's strong performance was recognized in 2006 with a Frost & Sullivan Growth Strategy Leadership Award," said Jessy Cavazos, Frost & Sullivan Test & Measurement Industry Manager. "Shunra's success can also be attributed to the fact that Shunra has raised market awareness of the consequences of failing to test applications on an emulated network prior to deployment in production. The real and significant costs associated with fixing application problems after the fact has become a critical factor in the market's adoption of Shunra's industry-leading network emulation technology. In a tight economy, as companies look for ways to become more efficient, reduce labor costs and increase productivity, Shunra's solutions provide them with a way to achieve all those goals on a technological level."
Shunra continued to win new customers in 2007, ranging from multi-national corporations to mid-sized businesses representing major vertical markets including financial, pharmaceutical, communications, and consumer goods. Customer wins in 2007 included Accenture, Nationwide Insurance, PepsiCo, The Hartford, and Washington Mutual.
Customers for Shunra’s turnkey Professional Services also grew this year. Typical engagements included evaluating end-users’ experiences before rolling out an application into production; assessing the feasibility of a data center move or server consolidation; evaluating and implementing a WAN optimization solution; and troubleshooting networked applications.
Shunra increased its market presence and global opportunities with strategic partnerships and alliances in 2007. Relationships with Citrix Systems, Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed and SAP were expanded in which Shunra technology is used in their demo and test performance labs to virtualize any network topology. Shunra also continued to partner with Microsoft in its Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) labs, and now is installed in 9 MTCs around the world. In addition, Shunra became a Gold Certified Microsoft Partner, an achievement that validates Shunra’s commitment to the Microsoft development and testing community.
Instrumental to Shunra’s success in 2007 was the superiority of its Shunra VE solutions. Shunra released three major new product versions in 2007:
The technology industry bestowed a number of its top awards on Shunra in 2007. These included: eWeek Excellence Award; Internet Telephony’s 2007 Product of the Year, Excellence Award and Best of Show Q2; TMC Labs Innovation Award 2007; Interop Top Pick; Frost & Sullivan Growth Strategy Leadership Award; and CODiE Finalist in Best Systems Management category.
Other industry acclaim came by way of the analyst community, with Gartner naming Shunra as a market leader in the WAN emulation market.
"Shunra continues to place the highest value on remaining close to our customers, responding to their needs with innovations and product enhancements that meet their technology requirements better than anyone else in the market," concluded Thomas Charlton. "In 2008, Shunra will continue to strengthen these relationships, and introduce technology that leads the industry. These are the keys to Shunra’s enduring success."
