VE NETWORK CATCHER

VE Network Catcher is a web based application that records and archives production network data such as latency, packet loss, jitter, and route changes.

  • Ideal for accurate future planning and troubleshooting production problems
  • Continuous recording of network conditions provides historical network health and trending data
  • Real-time reporting and SNMP alerting features allow for constant, remote monitoring
  • Full integration with VE Modeler and VE Desktop Professional allows recorded network behaviors to be replayed— enabling application testing under real-world conditions

VE Network Catcher is also a useful troubleshooting solution; you can rewind the recording to the time that a problem occurred and see what happened with the network at that specific moment. Users may easily identify the source of performance problems—whether in the application or the network – verify the source and propose the right resolution.

VE PREDICTOR

VE Predictor evaluates the end-user experience at remote locations or under specific network conditions. This tool allows users to easily launch tests that include network emulation and end-user load; determining if new, modified or existing applications will meet service level objectives at remote locations.

  • Integrates directly with the industry’s leading load testing tools, including HP’s Mercury LoadRunner and Borland’s SilkPerformer
  • Users may reuse prior investments in application scripting to automatically assess service level compliance as reported in automated executive reports
  • Detailed service level compliance reports show overall site compliance and individual application response timing for each level of end-user load tested

VE PROFILER

VE Profiler evaluates application network sensitivity. This tool allows users to easily launch tests that include network emulation and end-user load; determining the application’s sensitivities and breaking points to varied network and user load conditions.

  • Integrates directly with the industry’s leading load testing tools, including HP’s Mercury LoadRunner and Borland’s SilkPerformer
  • Users may reuse prior investments in application scripting to automatically assess service level compliance as reported in automated executive reports
  • Detailed service level compliance reports show application breaking points and response time at each combination of network impairment and end-user load tested

VE ANALYZER

VE Analyzer is a patent pending, simple to use solution that produces deep packet transaction analysis. The VE Analyzer provides the ability to both expose potential performance problems and analyze the root cause behind them.

This software module is fully integrated with the VE Modeler and VE Desktop Professional, and adds insight into the performance of applications and their transactions across the network with the following:

  • Infrastructure breakdown summary—highlighting the time each transaction spent on the front-end, network and back-end
  • Application efficiency information—including application turns for each transaction (both textually and in a bounce diagram)
  • Throughput and bandwidth utilization for each transaction
  • Network and application error information

VE ADVANCED NETWORKING

VE Advanced Networking gives users the ability to model complex network topologies and simulate advanced network technologies. This package includes simulation models for:

  • Quality of Service (QoS)
  • Differentiated Services (DiffServ)
  • Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)
  • Multicast
  • Broadcast
  • Virtual LAN (VLAN)

VE INTERNET SIMULATION

VE Internet Simulation provides simulation capabilities of up to five million consumer connection points including dial up, DSL, Cable modem, Wi-Fi, etc.

  • This module is useful for validating global website, VoIP, or video consumer performance under a distributed consumer load.

VE ENDPOINTS

VE Endpoints provides the ability to scale a network simulation model up to several remote locations without the need for additional hardware ports and infrastructure.

  • Each VE Endpoint is associated with an IP filter representing a unique network profile (e.g., a remote site)
  • The use of VE Endpoints greatly reduces the hardware requirements for large-scale testing
  • VE Endpoints can be filtered on combinations of IP addresses, protocol, and ports

VE MULTI-USER

VE Multi-User enables multiple tests to run in tandem—using the same VE Network Appliance. The web-based graphical interface is simple and easy to use, making it an ideal solution for any group that wants to test in parallel.
