VE Transaction Manager Agents & API
VE Transaction Manager Agents run on the same platform with your script/load tool generators. From within your scripts you can now mark your business transactions as they execute through a real-world WAN environment. This automated correlation of business transactions with the resulting packets traversing the network enables Shunra to provide several powerful capabilities via its VE Appliance Packet Lists, VE Analyzer and VE ClearSight applications.
The VE Transaction Manager API allows you to leverage & re-use your existing scripts. The API easily integrates with third party load tools such as HP LoadRunner and QuickTest Pro, Borland SilkPerformer and IBM Rational Robot.
VE Appliance Packet Lists
VE Packet Lists automate the time-consuming and costly process of sniffing transaction packet flows and correlating packet data in your application analysis tools.
VE Appliance Packet Lists are flexible packet capture buffers easily incorporated into automated application test sessions. The buffers reside within the Shunra VE WAN Emulation Appliance providing the Production Network behavior in your lab. The Packet Lists contain transaction “fingerprints” based on the Transaction Markers set in your scripts. These transactions can be analyzed by VE Analyzer, and are in an industry-standard format for easy import into third party analysis tools such as OPNET ACETM.
VE Analyzer
VE Analyzer adds a new dimension of insight into the performance of applications and transactions across the network. The application provides enhanced performance information on each transaction to enable you to isolate the root cause of performance problems.
Reports include:
- Infrastructure Breakdown Summary —highlighting the time each transaction spends on the client, network and back-end servers.
- Application Efficiency Report — providing application turns for each transaction and a protocol bounce diagram.
- Bandwidth Bottleneck Report — providing throughput and bandwidth utilization for each transaction indicating how network resource intensive the transaction is, and how it compares with the other applications that are consuming network resources on the same link.
- Network and Application Error Report —highlighting all application related errors and potential problematic issues such as caching issues or unutilized buffer size, enabling you to identify functional problems with the transaction.
The VE Analyzer provides relevant information to all application stakeholders including developers, QA staff, performance engineers and infrastructure engineers, providing each team with the information they need to optimize the application and infrastructure prior to deployment.
VE ClearSight
VE ClearSight enables you to diagnose and resolve application and performance issues in a multi-protocol network environment. Through a simple and intuitive user interface VE ClearSight presents a comprehensive high-level overview of your network traffic. From that framework you can use well-placed hyperlinks to drill down to gain access to more detailed information. This includes using Shunra VE Transaction Markers to locate and analyze specific transactions of interest.
Transaction analysis includes N-Tier Flow Analysis for over a hundred protocols and tens of audio/video codes for VoIP and IPTV analysis. This unique combination of integration, control and visibility accelerates your time to problem diagnosis and resolution.
