The Shunra Virtual Enterprise solutions emulate any production network environment in your pre-deployment lab. It delivers a powerful, flexible and easy way to test the performance of your applications or network equipment under a wide variety of network impairments – as if they were running in a real production environment. Through this process users understand the impact that the network and applications have on each other's performance and on remote end-users' experiences, and uncover and resolve production-related problems before rollout

In addition to the empirical experience, Shunra provides comprehensive reports and drill down analysis capabilities. These help you isolate and resolve the root causes of network and application problems early, and determine whether any modifications to the application, network or infrastructure are needed. Shunra VE gives you the information you need to make informed decisions and ensure service levels to remote end-users.

Corporate History

Shunra's founders formed the company to address the real-world needs of IT-dependent organizations grappling with the complexities of delivering sophisticated applications in highly distributed environments. They set out to fulfill three specific goals:

  • Provide customers with a practical way to experience networked applications before deployment
  • Help customers mitigate risk and cost associated with complex network sensitive projects by addressing performance objectives up front – before making important application and infrastructure changes
  • Enable customers to apply software engineering best practices early and often across the entire project lifecycle

Leveraging the founders' collective experience with network computing and the rapid growth of network-enabled IT services, Shunra pioneered Wide Area Networking (WAN) simulation technologies that focused on empirical rather than mathematical modeling. This significant shift provides more accurate baselining and measurement of performance.

Shunra's early focus on the "network impact" – i.e. the disparity between the performance of applications in local development environments and their performance in geographically dispersed real world environments – uniquely positioned the company to help customers overcome the adverse impact of that disparity on both IT and the business. Building on this early success, vision and innovation, Shunra today develops and delivers Shunra VE solutions that enable its customers to "Deliver IT with Confidence".
